How's your summer going?!

Ok, I LOVE saying that... even though the official day of summer isn't until the 21st...

It feels fabulous now that the weather in New England is catching up with our summer attitudes. Slower pace, more time for friends and family, a chance to change it up…

But with all the change that summer brings, it can sometimes be hard to figure out a new schedule and routine – one that accounts for a change in season but doesn’t derail you from your goals and progress.

In order to have a successful summer, we've got to schedule it.

But schedule what, exactly?!

It can be hard to pivot from our current regimented, non-summer schedule into a more relaxed season.

Free time can feel abundant.

The hotter temps can decrease your motivation for movement.

So what, my friend, should we schedule??

We're going to keep it simple and schedule what we already know and what we already do!

Whatever is going to work for YOU this summer, write it down! Plan it out! Stick to your schedule.

YOU are in charge of your summer so take the time to schedule it to create it exactly how you want it.

THE STAYCATION-ER

This is for you if you're mostly home during the summer except for a few weekends away.

5: 5 days of activity each week
4: 4 days of 10,000 steps or more
3: 3 days OR less of drinking alcohol each week
2: Never 2 days is a row of overindulging in food/drink/parties
1: 1 day of anything you want!

THE JET-SETTER

This is an ideal option for you if you travel most of the summer or are living in a summer home because it creates a balance between regular days and vacation days.

5: 5 nights of 7+ hours of sleep
4: 4 workouts OR more each week
3: 3 days or less of drinking alcohol each week
2: 2 liters or more of water each day
1: If it's within 1 mile, walk, no matter what

THE HARDCORE WARRIOR

This is an ideal option for you if you want to make gains over the summer and stick to your guns when it comes to habits & choices whether you travel or not.

5: 5 (and up to 6) days of workouts every week
4: 4 servings of veggies each day
3: 3 liters of pure water each day
2: 2 days or less of alcohol/sweets each week
1: 1 day of anything you want

Scheduling your summer means that you will make time for your goals AND for fun! There's absolutely room for both!
